Appreciating what works

Recently I have been using Appreciative Inquiry, a strengths based Organisational Development methodology, to running workshops that get groups of people to work together to co-create vision and strategy. Last week I co-facilitated a conference for 80 international business leaders using AI.  AI is a very natural and creative process and the programme I put together used storytelling, creative workshops and collaborative working to create a new narrative for the business.  Within the 2.5 day meeting we had World Cafe and Open Space sessions. Both these methods adapt well to AI. If you would like to know more about Appreciative Inquiry give me a call.

Appreciating participation

Last Friday I spent a very intersting day with Chris Elmitt at Crystal Interactive learning how to facilitate meetings and workshops using Crystal’s laptop and keypad technology.

We often run workshops for our clients and where there are 8 or more people I believe Crystal’s technology can make the day more engaging and productive. Using the text based laptops enables participation and for ideas and information to be captured, sorted and displayed and for those outputs to be instantly available after the meeting.

Earlier this year I attended a course on Appreciative Inquiry with Anne Radford.  Appreciative Inquiry is a strengths based model for Organisation Development. Now I am getting my mind around how AI and Crystal’s technology can be used together.
